Dear Friend in the Lord,

Kingdom - Cure: In today’s Gospel, Jesus proclaimed the Good News of the Kingdom and cured all kinds of diseases.  When we seek God’s Compassionate Love to cure us and to care for all our needs, let us remember that Jesus is more than a medical doctor.  Let us thank Jesus for being our Lord and Saviour.

Fr Philip Heng, S.J

Jesus made a tour through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and curing all kinds of disease and all kinds of illness.

And when he saw the crowds he felt sorry for them because they were harassed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is rich but the labourers are few, so ask the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers to his harvest.’

As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?

  • The Good News of salvation has touched one billion Christians or more in the world.

  • If we are on a ship and find others drowning in the sea, are we not obliged to rescue them?  If we don’t do something for these people, our Good News is not integrated into our lives.

  • Jesus is challenging all of us who have the gift of eternal life to do what we can daily to make His Good News known, loved and lived.  Ponder on this truth and be receptive to God’s challenges to make Him real to people through your witness of Him.
