Jesuit Prayer Ministry – Daily Gospel E-message (“DGEMS”) by Fr Philip Heng,S.J.

Everyone is so busy, and yet inescapably hungering for meaning and fulfilment in their lives.

“DGEMS” has the main purpose of helping our subscribers discover more clearly and experience more deeply these innate human longings. The reflections on the Daily Gospels are deliberately succinct and spiritually challenging. They are also meant to inspire and illuminate our daily experiences through God’s Word.

Dear Friend in the Lord,

Jesus’ Compassion: In today’s Gospel, Jesus shed tears of great sorrow when He drew near the city of Jerusalem, as He foresaw how the city would be destroyed by sinners, who misuse their responsibility and power.  Likewise, do we misuse the position and power entrusted to us, and uses it for our own benefits, and at the expense of others?

Be assured that these are “normal and common” experiences in prayer. Give yourself a chance to pray better... be patient with yourself...
