Lord, help me to listen to your voice to change my ways to grow closer to you
15th Week in Ordinary Time : Tuesday 13th July 2021
Ex. 2:1-15; Ps. 68:3,14,30-31,33-34
Mt. 11:20-24 (Ps Wk III)
In Exodus, we read Moses’ birth and upbringing as a Hebrew boy by his mother in his own birth family. Even though Moses was an infant when Pharoah’s daughter took him in, Moses grew up knowing who he was. He was a Hebrew, which is why he protected the Hebrew worker by killing the Egyptian. After that, he was forced to flee to save his life. Do we know who we are? The beloved children of God!
Jesus was frustrated with that generation of people who never seemed satisfied. He then spoke about the cities where many miracles had been performed, yet they did not repent. They continued to carry on with their former lifestyles. Jesus compared them with Sodom, known as evil and unrepentant city and destroyed for its sins. He said that if the deeds performed in Capernaum had been performed in Sodom, Sodom would have repented. Jesus’ words would have angered the people greatly. Do we pay attention to the voice of God when we are asked to change our ways?
Lord, help me to remember that I am Yours.
