Daily Word Of God

Matthew 10:37-42

Jesus got into the boat followed by his disciples. Suddenly a storm broke over the lake, so violent that the boat was being swamped by the waves. But he was asleep. So they went to him and woke him saying, ‘Save us, Lord, we are lost!’

And he said to them, ‘Why are you so frightened, you who have so little faith?’ And then he stood up and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. They were astounded and said, ‘Whatever kind of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?’

Today's Pointers on God's Word

As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?

  • In life we will surely encounter many “storms” that come when we least expect of them.  However, Jesus assures us that He will always be there for us.

  • Nevertheless, the disciples who were caught up by the threats of the storm, and the fears of their lives, forgot that Jesus was with them.

  • Likewise, we should always live in hope as God’s Love and Care for us will never fade; He will always “steer” our lives to the harbour of safety.  Be patient and calm regardless of your pains and trials of life.  Open your hearts to Him and you will surely find Him there with you and for you.
