Dear Friend in the Lord,

Wisdom – Faith”:  In today’s Gospel, Jesus proclaimed the “Parable of the Fig tree”, to remind His disciples that while they are able to predict the seasons, through the signs of the growth of the fig tree, they would not be able to predict the Second Coming of the Messiah.  Ponder on, “The human mind is limited, but the Holy Spirit’s Light is True Wisdom”.

Fr Philip Heng, S.J.

Mark 13:28-32

Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Take the fig tree as a parable: as soon as its twigs grow supple and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. So with you when you see these things happening: know that he is near, at the very gates. I tell you solemnly, before this generation has passed away all these things will have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

‘But as for that day or hour, nobody knows it, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son; no one but the Father.’
