Dear Friend in the Lord,
“Jesus” – Name: In today’s celebration of the “Holy Name of Jesus” let us remember that in Hebrew, “Jesus” is “Yesua” or “Yehosua” which means “Yahweh saves”. The Greek translation of the Hebrew “Messiah” is “Christos”. Both reveal Jesus’ identity as the anointed Saviour of the world. Let us reverence Jesus in His Name.

Luke 2:21-24
When the eighth day came and the child was to be circumcised, they gave him the name Jesus, the name the angel had given him before his conception.
And when the day came for them to be purified in keeping with the Law of Moses, they took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord – observing what stands written in the Law; Every first-born male must be consecrated to the Lord – and also to offer in sacrifice, in accordance with what is prescribed in the Law of the Lord, a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.
