Daily Word Of God
John 14:1-6
Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Do not let your hearts be troubled. You trust in God, trust also in me. In my Father’s house there are many places to live in; otherwise I would have told you. I am going now to prepare a place for you, and after I have gone and prepared you a place, I shall return to take you to myself, so that you may be with me where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.’
Thomas said, ‘Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way?’ Jesus said: I am the Way; I am Truth and Life. No one can come to the Father except through me.’
Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- To trust someone is “easy” when we are brought up in a family and an environment of affection and assurance.
- But, if we have experienced only superficial love and affirmations, or when we have repressed deep hurts and pain in life, it is very difficult to “trust” others and even ourselves.
- Today, the Lord challenges us to go beyond our personal experiences and learn to trust Him and His promise of eternal life and that He has actually “prepared a place for us in heaven after we die.” Ponder on this Truth of Easter and draw spiritual consolation from it.
