John 3:13-17
Jesus said to Nicodemus: ‘No one has gone up to heaven except the one who came down from heaven, the Son of man; as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so must the Son of man be lifted up so that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.
‘For this is how God loved the world: he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.
‘For God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but so that through him the world might be saved.

- In today’s Gospel, Jesus proclaims that He came into the world to seek and save the lost, to call sinners to repentance. His call is an invitation to accept God’s love and be reconciled with Him.
- Jesus himself is the perfect sign of God’s overwhelming Mercy to save all humankind. He took the form of a slave and abandoned His divine majesty so as to win for us our eternal salvation.
- Spend some moments to contemplate on this great and divine Mercy of God for us and ask ourselves, “How ought I to respond to His love?”
