Daily Word Of God

Matthew 19:13-15

People brought little children to Jesus, for him to lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples scolded them, but Jesus said, ‘Let the little children alone, and do not stop them from coming to me; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of Heaven belongs.’

Then he laid his hands on them and went on his way.

Today's Pointers on God's Word

As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?

  • In today’s Gospel Jesus reminds us that God’s divine love has ample room for everyone, especially children who delight Him with their simplicity and humility of heart.

  • No one is unimportant to God. He calls each one of us by name and loves us dearly. He will never fail to give us healing love and power whenever we call on Him for help.

  • We must encourage our young to love Jesus as their friend and to ask Him to bless them with a strong faith to face the challenges and negative influences of their lives. We must also ask Jesus that, we ourselves may not lose our child-like simplicity and humility: qualities that open our hearts to His Truth and Spirit.
