Daily Word Of God
Luke 10:13-16
Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Alas for you, Chorazin! Alas for you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. And still, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon at the Judgement than for you. And as for you, Capernaum, did you want to be raised high as heaven? You shall be flung down to hell.
‘Anyone who listens to you listens to me; anyone who rejects you rejects me, and those who reject me reject the one who sent me.’
Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- Jesus had performed many miracles in Chorazin and Bethsaida, yet the people continued to shut themselves from the Truth of Christ and persisted in their ways of living against God.
- What about our own life? Have the abundant blessings that God has bestowed on us borne fruits of greater love and compassion on others?
- Ponder on how you have been living in the past years of your life. Are you any different from those who do not know and believe Christ? How have the Sacraments of the Eucharist and Reconciliation helped you to live your life differently?
