Matthew 12:46-50

esus was speaking to the crowds when suddenly his mother and his brothers were standing outside and were anxious to have a word with him. 

      But to the man who told him this Jesus replied, ‘Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?’ And stretching out his hand towards his disciples he said, ‘Here are my mother and my brothers. Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.’

• Jesus loves His parents, but considers all those who do His Father’s Will to be His family.
  
  
• If we are drawn towards living a spirituality that has a preferential love for the poor, the sick and the dying, then we can be sure that we will be close to the Heart of Jesus. 
  
  
• Ponder on this for a few moments. What percentage of your monthly earnings goes to support the poor and the needy? Are you suspicious when they come up to you for support? It is very humiliating to beg. Try to put yourself in their shoes.
