Jesus, you are the Son of God
4th Week of Lent : Thursday 26th March 2020
Ex. 32:7-14; Ps. 106(105):19-20,21-22,23;
Jn. 5:31-47 (Ps Wk IV)
We gain a direction in life through reason and science, but more often, through the influence and testimony of others through their words, attitudes and personal qualities. We find these people in daily life and the Church.
In today’s Gospel text, Jesus speaks of the testimonies that accredit him as the one sent by the Father: his words and actions, John the Baptist pointing him out as the Saviour, and the words of the Scriptures that refer to him.
As I review the evidence to which You draw my attention, I see the way You work in me and the world. Also, some people make it easier for me to recognise You and Your instructions through the Spirit in the Scriptures. Indeed, these are actual events through the people who live the Spirit.
Lord Jesus, I pray for a deeper faith to believe that it was God who sent You to the world. Thank You, Jesus. Amen.
